WAB Nets

This is just an observation of the current WAB nets, the rules seem to have gone out the window, there are nets running most days but the rules where are they ?, at times we have at least two committee members on frequency, but they appear to be oblivious to the rules, Call signs are not being used on many occasions.
There does seem to be many net controllers at any one time that call in, I do realize that conditions are difficult at present, but the amount of doubling that goes on leaves a bit to be desired.
Please be aware that the rules stipulate that each party can have 2 calls to a station, if they do not make the contact then they are put to the bottom of the list to try again, but it seems he they can have as many attempts that the net controller allows them ??.
The nets take so long to run down that people do get fed up waiting and go elsewhere, as has been said if we have a few mobiles running how long would it take to run them down ???.
Sorry guys but you do really need to get your act together before I return to a wab net, it is not all about grabbing squares, to enhance your scores, sadly this is what Cabin Fever has created, and good concept for some but not good for others.
I will say no more but may but a report in our next newsletter.

Can i add to this that a few comers tto the hobby and WAB would like to be able to take part in the nets as some have found that they have been brought into the net. then forgot about!
Is his because we have no interest in developing the newcomers. their squares are also collectable and some could be future mobile or portable operators.
please don't put our award scheme in to poor light. also try to explain our it really works too on the nt if time allows and off the net too.
Just a thought.

Mark.

Sorry Mark don,t see how you can make comments like that as you never frequent the 80m nets.If you are talking about 40m i can see how it may happen
as more often than not most are not hearing one another very well. There may be the odd time somebody gets missed if a busy
net but i don,t think anybody is intentionally left out i personally have not heard any complaints as such.
Hope you & pam are both well.

Hello Phil.
Yes i was referring to 40m nets in the last few months during the heavy, steep QSB. i know it is difficult but a couple had mentioned it to me. so i thought i would pass it on when i saw this thread.
we are holding our own thanks take care.

I have moved this topic into "Discussion". It doesn't really belong in the news sub-forum.
