Antennas

I've been experimenting with home HF antennas without much success. Today I noticed many regular stations were giving out reports of 57 or more stations that were 33 for me. Now I know my 1/2 size G5RV has got to go but I'm curious to know what others use to get such a good performance. For example, if I can't hear Ken G0FEX I probably won't hear anyone. Dave G7SQA also put out a good signal and seem to 'hear' very well too. I'd be really interested to hear what other people are using, especially if it would fit into the 85' that I have. Thanks.

I used a 40m dipole (well it's a linked dipole for 20,40 and 60) when portable and its very good. Do you only operate on 40m or do you have several antennas and a switching system? It would be good to have 20,40 and 80 at least.

since we moved house six months ago i have not been on hf as i only have a 70cm-2m and 6m colinear set up, been working the next door neighbours to get them to allow a 20 foot flag pole to go up but even then a g5 wont go up as its to long

been looking at verticals but have yet to build it
