Trig point activation rules and guidelines?

I can't seem to find much info on rules etc on the Trig points awards.
I plan to be doing some activations very soon.

For example, how many contacts do you need to make to qualify as activating a trig?
Presumably I can make those qualifying contacts on say 2m, then switch to HF to clock up one activation towards the VHF and HF awards?
Etc.

Hi Steve,

In common with all WAB awards, you only need one contact to qualify. It's the spirit of WAB, when activating, to endeavour to work as many as possible. Activators have always done this and they have never given us cause to word the guidelines differently. Yes, having made your contact on VHF, you can then go to other bands to qualify for them as well.

This page on our website should give you all you need to know:

The multi-band tracker sheet seems to give SSB as the only mode that can be accepted. Is this the case, i.e. is FM not acceptable. Many of the highest summits are activated with a VHF FM handy and so chasers have no option but to use the same mode. Thanks.

Those are what you might call default settings on the first page. As it says underneath them, the bands (and modes) are selected on the next sheet - the "Trigpoints" tab - to anything you wish by overwriting the defaults.

Awards have already been issued with 2m FM as an endorsement.
