Am I correct in thinking (I am sure I read it somewhere but now I cannot find it anywhere on the website) that in order to activate a square/island or NATS the whole station must be on dry land?
Being /MM or /MA even if moored at a pier/slip etc. does not count.
Just a thought perhaps I am mixing up IOTA and WAB rules.

Re: Maritime Mobile and Maritime at Anchor
As I think I mentioned some time ago when a ship or boat is moored they should operate as /P. only change to /MM when they cast off.
I noticed that GC0SYG was posted as /MM. Did they give this when they were tided up? Not that OFCOM or anybody worries these days.
The rule in WAB I don't understand is if you're in inland waters (as on a canal boat) then the WAB square can be claimed. But when does the estuary of a river like the River Thames or Severn or Humber become in land. The Rver Thames is tidal way past Westminster.

Ordnance Survey maps show the Normal Tidal Limit (NTL) on their maps. Inland boats beyond this are valid for WAB contacts. This marker was used a the guide when we did the Coastal and Tidal Award.
