special events
Cockenzie & Port Seton Amateur Radio Club will be operating GB2LBN at Barns Ness next weekend for International Lighthouse Weekend.

A number of other lighthouses and lightships are hosting special event stations and callsigns to look out for include GB1DLH at Durness Light House,
GB0REL for Rathlin East Light in Co Antrim, GB0NLH at Needles Light House on the Isle of Wight and many more.
17th and 18th August, is International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend.
Once again, Ayr Amateur Radio Group will activate Turnberry Lighthouse, GB2LT, which has the very special ILLW Lighthouse Number UK0000 in recognition of the fact that this is where it all began. A very enjoyable weekend is in prospect with over 350 lighthouses and lightships expected to be activated worldwide.
Ian, MM0IMC and Andrew, MM6GTJ will be activating Ardrossan Lighthouse, ILLW number UK0089, as MM6ISM/P. This will be a QRP operation for a couple of hours each day on 40m and 20m, weather and band conditions permitting.

It looks like Saturday will be a washout due to predicted poor weather conditions, if this is the case then we'll try our best to be active on the Sunday. ;)

I went to the Ardrossan Lighthouse this evening between the rain squalls and managed to work one station on 40m (GB0NHL), despite very heavy QRM from Russian contest stations... I'm hoping to be back tomorrow.
