80M

Post by G7afm »

Bit of activity on 80 yesterday afternoon signals not to bad but fast qsb don't understand why so many are still intent on trying to use 40 when it's so obviously not going to work,I know that the mobiles/portables are still trying on 40 but surely those that can will try 80 if there is a net of sorts.60 is the better band at the moment but due to the restrictions not really an option.

Unfortunately I don't have any Antennas up for 80 Metres at the moment; hope to do something about that in the coming months. The annoying Beacon on 3.760 in the evenings is enough to put anyone off though. I also suffer interference on 7.160MHz +/- 2kHz quite a lot of the time, so don't have much luck with the WAB Frequencies :(

After about 38 years, you get used to the beacon and forget it's there!
