Advice needed - Trigs Tomorrow

Post by 2W0XOT »

I was planning to do some but I understand band conditions were poor today (but I was at work so didn't experience it myself). Tuesday was bad too. If you were on 40m today can you tell me if it was usable please? I don't want to waste my time going up to north Powys if I can't do inter G. Thanks.

You need to keep an eye on this (Chilton):

or this (Fairford):

so you can see how the critical frequencies are going. At the time of posting it's on the rise and is above 7 MHz - higher than this time yesterday. Summer condx can be hit and miss. It doesn't take much to knock the critical frequency below 7 MHz. This could subconsciously be the reason we head to Scotland on our summer jaunts, we're not at such a disadvantage with the long skip!
