The Royal Naval Amateur Radio Society will be running special event station GB6COD on Saturday 6th June at their HQ station in HMS Collingwood, Fareham. The station will be up and running from 0900. Main operation will be on SSB on the HF bands, mostly on the RNARS Centre of Activity frequencies. These are listed on http://www.rnars.org.uk/ The station will be open to visitors of all ages and you are encouraged to visit while you are at the event. Morse tests, for reading CW plain language will be available at 15, 20, 25 and 30 wpm for 3 minutes and a certificate awarded for successful applicants. During the Open Day there will be many attractions, entertainment and displays designed to capture the imagination of everyone.

On the 7th of June Coventry ARS, supported by Coventry Gliding Club, will take part in Youth Aviation Day at the Gliding Centre, Husbands, Bosworth LE17 6JJ. This will include special event station GB4YAD. It will be a fun packed day promoting various youth activities including amateur radio.


The Riverway Amateur Radio Society, in Stafford, will be operating a special event station GB200W (Golf Bravo Two Hundred Whiskey) to commemorate the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the battle of Waterloo. This event is being carried out in conjunction with the Stafford & Rugeley Sea Cadets. Operation will take place until the 28th of June and will be active on all bands from 80m to 70cm where possible. QSLs will be accepted via EQSL only.
