We are trialing a new system of alerting members to any activity that may interest them. It is hoped that if it is successful it will take a lot of the "spotting" traffic off the reflector - something for which it was never intended - and leave it for its original purpose of notifying members of forthcoming activity.

We thank Steve, G4HPE for coming up with the idea, which I think is best explained in his own words..........

There are times when interesting WAB/Flora&Fauna/Special Event/Lighthouse stations are found on the bands, not always on a WAB net.
Some members try to let others know as quickly as they can via the WAB email reflector or WAB forum, but it's a bit dispersed and delayed.
I've created a prototype quick and dirty resource for live reporting and wondered if you would give it a try?

Yes, very long and complicated URLs but that can easily be addressed and of course can be bookmarked as favourites in browsers.
Works fine on my mobile phone too.
