"The Man Who Shrank the World"
Due to declining interest, this award has been discontinued
As an affiliated club, we offer our limited assistance to
support the RSGB, the "British Association for the Advancement of Science" and
"Marconi" in their support for National Science & Engineering Week.
The Award is for contacts made between 00.00 utc on Friday 9th March and 24.00 utc Sunday 18th March 2008.
The W.A.B club stations will be active as much as possible
during this time.
The minimum requirements for the Award are 20 points on VHF or
40 points on HF or HF/VHF mixed.

G4WAB & G7WAB have their own books so they can be
classed as a book holder. The operator may also be a book holder, so
with an area it is possible to get 8 points for working either station.
We have designed a special certificate for the occasion. The
price of certificates claimed will be at our normal fee - see Price List.
There will be an additional Award with a different certificate
for the most points in each section. Claims should be sent to the Awards Manager (see Committee Page) as soon as possible after the end of the activity.
There are four sections: HF/VHF worked, VHF
worked, HF/VHF activated and VHF activated.
Remember, members of W.A.B. (i.e. all W.A.B. bookholders) can apply to use either of the W.A.B. club callsigns during this event (and at other times).
If you wish to use G4WAB, contact the licence holder G7GJU, or to use G7WAB, contact G0AKH. See the Committee page.
All we require is that you request permission beforehand (to avoid more than one person using the callsign), keep a log of your contacts and forward it to the licence holder
as soon after the end of operation as possible. The licence holder will deal with sending out any QSL Cards.
