Norman Marshall G1NTW Legacy Page Last Updated: 29 Dec 2007
Norman Marshall G1NTW, a former committee member of W.A.B. bequethed the sum of £150,000 to W.A.B.
The committee in place at the time the bequest was
received invested the money in a Multi Manager Distribution Fund with the Portfolio Service of F & C Fund Management Ltd., and decided that only the
dividend should be used for any donations made as per the constitution, and for the day-to-day running of W.A.B., thus leaving the initial investment intact.
This required an amendment to the
consitution which was passed at the 2007 A.G.M.
The four trustees of the fund in which the Norman Marshall legacy is invested must be serving members of the committee.
The first 6 donations were finalised at a committee meeting in September 2007, and are detailed as follows:
- £1000 to the Radio Communications Foundation (GB4FUN)
- £1000 to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution
- £1000 to Pump Aid (Provides easily maintainable pumps providing clean water in developing countries)
- £1000 to Cancer Research
